how fast has this week gone by?? it felt like yesterday was just the weekend. time always goes by faster when there's an assignment due or when the exams are coming up..

speaking of exams, i checked my exam timetable on tuesday and my one and only exam this year will be on the 26th of nov. grr.. see, my family was planning a holiday to China to go sometime in november cos that's when everyone can get their holidays from work. and usually exams for commerce subjects are on the first few days of the exam, so it's just my luck that the exam is going to be on the second last week of the exams. isil was so funny when she was trying to persuade me to use her granma story to try and get permission to take my exam earlier. the granma story is that my granma is really sick and the rest of the family is already overseas, and they're all waiting for me to finish my exam so i can get to my granma's side. but i didn't really like the negative, sick angle that the story has. *touch wood* so i've decided to give it a happy spin and change the story to that my granma is having her 100th birthday party in early november, so of course i can't miss it! i dunno if the exam office is going to buy that story tho. haha.. i dunno if i should try! isil was saying "just give them the birthday story and if they don't buy that, say 'wel, how bout if she's dying??'"

i finally got an application for an exchange on tuesday as well. i'm super excited abt the whole thing, it's a bit like planning for a holiday, tho i know it's spose to be for the good of my education. but it's still very exciting anyway! my first university preference is university of michigan at ann arbor. i was thinking about whether to take a full 24 units and save about $900 when i'm on exchange or whether i should just take 18 units and waste abt $450. cos i've got to take a full load when i'm on exchange, which is at least 18 units of credit. but the bodgy thing abt it is that regardless of whether i take 18 units or 24 units, i'm still going to get charged for 24 units. and the only subjects that i have left to do at the time of the exchange is 18 units of politics and 6 units of gen eds. so if i want, i can do the 6 units of gen ed in the summer session and since the gen eds offered at the summer session are all 3 units subjects, i'll have to pay $900 at $450 per subject, and then waste the $450 that they're going to charge me for my non-existent subject during exchange. got all that?? bored u to sleep already? hehee.. but nah, i don't think i can let that much money go to waste, so i'll probably do a gen ed on my exchange as well. subjects like african studies or latino studies would be heaps interesting.

i've pretty much done most of the easy bits of the application (which is just filling out forms), but i've still got to get two recommendations from my lecturers, do the 500-word "statement of purpose" on why i want to go on exchange (which i have a feeling is going to be more challenging than it seems to be), and approval for the subjects that i'm going to do during exchange.

a damn stupid thing happened to me today. i met up with isil and kristalla for lunch at the cafe near the red centre, but i'd bought my lunch from another place. so we got a table and isil & kris were lining up to get food, and cos i was hungry i started on my food. and then this 40-ish guy was clearing the table and when he passed me, he said "do u know that you're eating someone else's food on my table??" and the way he said it was just so insulting. thankfully kristalla came over with her food and he was like "oh! so you're with her. oh, okay then." sheesh! and then after that i think he was trying to make up for the mistake and when he came around to clear up our table, he had this like dirty rag in his hand and with that same hand he pinched my cheeks! it was just like ewwww!!!!! get-your-hands-off-me!!!! and i just wiped my cheeks right in front of him. geez! he wouldn't have done that to any his other customers! specially not with the dirty-ass rag in ur hand! and theN, he came around to clean our table the second time and he was saying "she's my favourite this one" (pointing to me) and it was just like don't even try to make up for ur rude mistake and gross acts mister! i dunno if it's cos i'm asian and he thought i'd tolerate it, or if it was cos i wore a bright green polo-shirt and i looked younger or whatever, it's still no excuse man!

*hmmpphh..* annoys me just thinking abt it now. i'm NEVER going back to that place ever again.
